The Best is Yet to Come

Frank Sinatra, amongst others, sang it. The phrase is also in the Bible, in the book of Isaiah. A friend who knows my struggles in life frequently reminds me that the best is yet to come.

I’ve tried to be a good person. I’m not perfect and am certainly not a saint, but I do have an inner moral compass and try to do good by others.

My life hasn’t always been easy. Life has dealt me a strange set of cards and I have had experiences that have shaped me, changed me and at times, broken me. But I’m still here. I am not vengeful. I don’t think we are here on this earth to be unhappy. I’m still here because I believe the best is yet to come. It may be tomorrow or next year or in the afterlife, but I continue to trust that as I get older, I will be a happier person and I will look back on past events without bitterness.
