I have a lot to be grateful for. I have relatively good health and am now living my life on my own terms. I have a good relationship with God and my family.
I have four wonderful adult sons who are decent human beings. I think my greatest accomplishment is having raised them to be intelligent, well-mannered, nice people. I think I have added something positive to the world by raising good kids. I also enjoy being in their company. It’s great to spend time with them, have them cook meals for me and to have adult conversations. I’m not a grandma yet, but look forward to the day that I become one.
I’m also grateful for my friends who are scattered across the globe. I can’t say that I have a lot of friends, but those with whom I have stayed in contact over the years are pure gold.
My life has not always been easy. Some awful things have happened along the way, but I am thankful for the people who have stood by me through thick and thin. It’s the human contacts that I am most grateful about, I suppose. All the rest is just an extra bonus.
