One step forward, two steps back, three steps forward. I’m long retired and still dancing to the rhythm and pulse of my own life. In 1964 my life plan changed from studying to be a doctor at Hunter College in New York City to obtaining a degree in environmental design and a master’s in public administration at The Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington. By the time I retired I had worked at four state agencies over a period of 40 years. During those years my husband Lyle and I have raised two sons and a large flock of chickens. We milked goats, grew much of our food and rescued Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dogs. Long retired, Baker and I moved in a 1960’s rambler on a cul-de-sac on the edge of town. It’s the house and neighborhood I never wanted to live in in the 1960’s. I love it.
