Born of European immigrant parents, I always felt a draw to the Old World. As a first born American citizen, I had all the opportunities that the US offered at my beckoning, but after college, I chose to go to France and stayed.
Thirty-five years and 4 kids later, I can say I chose a different path.
As much as I like returning to my native California, there is something about Europe that always draws me back. The history, the culture, the food…I am always happy to be back.
I am writing today from a museum in Zurich. I have just seen an Immersive Klimt show. I loved the colors, the story and the classical music.
I know my life would have been SO very different if I had not taken a chance, learned another language and tried a different life.
I have no regrets and would do it all over again.
