Tourests

Kingdom Divided

Living in a tourist town has it’s up’s and downs. First of all we have beautiful rivers and lots to do. It is relaxing and where I want to be, most of the time. Our taxes are lower since we have so many tourist’s spending their dollars here. As a result we have good utilities, and parks.
As, with anything good, politics comes in and mess’s it up. Our local government got used to having a great deal of money to spend so of course they decided they are the reason for this money and therefore need more power and control.
Our little city counsel has overstepped their bounds and decided to govern by fiat.
No short term rentals of our own personal property.
A separate fee to get in a public river.
Paid and restrictive parking on streets already paid for.
Golf carts allowed to use public roads without any licensing
Etc. etc.

It’s funny that a large portion of our residents came here as kids, had a great time and worked hard so they could afford to move here. Now that they live here, they complain about all the kids coming here and having fun
